When
Our wedding ceremony and reception will take place at the beautiful Villa Baroncino, nestled in the hills on the border of Umbria and Tuscany and overlooking the shores of Lake Trasimeno in the distance.
The villa is not only the location for the wedding day but also the base for everyone for the week (or 3 nights minimum stay) allowing all of us to enjoy the pool, gardens and all of the luxury the villa has to offer. The villa will be for our exclusive use from Saturday 12th July to Saturday 19th July. Once we have a list of confirmed guests we will allocate apartments. We ask you to let us know ASAP if you will be attending. You will be able to stay for the full week or a minimum of 3 nights arriving on Wednesday 16th, with everyone departing on Saturday 19th.
Please check out the villas website for more: www.villabaroncino.com
Surrounded by soft rolling hills, Villa Baroncino faces to the west on Mount Qualandro in the hills of the Sanguineto, at the border of gentle Tuscany and lush green Umbria. Not far from an ancient Castle; to the south, it faces Lake Trasimeno and is surrounded by wooded hills to the east and north. The Villa was once an olive mill and has been refurbished in the style of the period, maintaining the typical architectural features of the surrounding area.
The Villa’s panoramic position is reminiscent of its original purpose, its many acres of land still devoted to the cultivation of olives grove cultivation and the comfortable roads that allow for easy access. The estate is comprised of two buildings: Villa Vittoria and Villa Adele. From 1797 until recent times, Villa Vittoria hosted the town hall of the borough of Baroncino-Tuoro. A careful restoration turned it into an elegant three-story dwelling with nine apartments. Villa Adele is the central core of the estate and is made up of three double-bedroom suites, the Wedding suite, a large kitchen, a dining room and a sitting room.
The villa is just a couple of minutes by car from Tuoro sul Trasimeno, a small town that offers plenty of characteristic shops and typical restaurants. With a short drive, one arrives also to many important cities and towns in Tuscany and Umbria like Perugia, Assisi, Cortona, Montepulciano, Siena, Florence and Rome can be reached by car in two and a half hours.
The Villa revels amidst luxuriant gardens, acres of land covered with olive groves and century-old trees. The gardens are Villa Baroncino’s biggest attraction. There are about 10,000 trees and bushes that make the grounds unique and spectacular. The plant varieties are typical of the flora of Umbria and Tuscany; olives and cypresses, as well as aromatic plants such as lavender, rosemary and sage, and wayfaring trees such as verbena and geraniums grow.
At the main gate, you’ll be greeted by an avenue lined with cypresses, and dotted with lavender and roses. The estate has more than 500 olive trees, many of which are over a century old, and they produce excellent PDO extra virgin olive oil that is still pressed in the old traditional way at the Sanguineto oil mill. The vineyard on the estate produces Baroncino red wine. There are many acres of vineyards and the estate makes approximately 1500 bottles.
